I was in my darkest days. After 6 years, my landlord decided to sell his home and I was homeless with 5 children, as a single mom. I lost my job during Covid and I hit rock bottom. I felt hopeless bouncing from couch to couch or even living in my car.

But God blessed us with ACROSS! ACROSS gave us a safe and private place to live so I could focus on healing mentally, spiritually and planning for the future. I felt like I could finally breathe again! I started reading my bible, learning about God and getting my life in order, His way! My soul was cared for!

ACROSS became my family, when I didn’t have one to lean on.

My family was living in a dilapidated home. It didn’t have a foundation or even walls. It was completely unlivable. My mind felt like a circus even though my heart was at peace, worrying about rain, wind and tornadoes.

A local church heard about our living situation and stepped in to make repairs and restructure our house! Praise God! During that time, we did not have a safe place to live.

Thankfully, ACROSS became that safe place! We feel SO SO Blessed to be loved by so many people. We see God’s provision and hand in it all. Even at Christmas time, ACROSS provided gifts for our family! Words cannot describe the happiness we all felt and how special this made our children feel.

ACROSS gave us more than just shelter. It gave us peace and comfort as well! A true burden was lifted. We now have a stepping stone in front of us. All glory to God!

I found myself in a desperate situation. With 3 young children, as a single mom, we were hopping from house to house. I was struggling at my job and needed help!
ACROSS was that help!

During our stay, I was able to save money and pay down debt. ACROSS helped me get my finances in order and life back on track. I was also able to find a good job and even earned “Employee of the Quarter!” My children had a safe place to live and thrived at school. Before, my daughter was sad and the teachers were noticing it. Now she is thriving and making good grades! At ACROSS, I always felt kindness and no judgment.

I’m a single father taking care of 3 children. My oldest daughter is 28 and has stage 4 cancer and just recovered from a mastectomy. Before ACROSS, I was driving from Corsicana to Dallas for her doctors appointments, constantly having to miss work. I was very stressed and worried because of all of the medical bills and loans stacking up, along with caring for my daughter with cancer.

Across provided relief and took a huge load off my mind. I was able to catch up on bills. I finally had room to breathe. Now I have a plan for the future and one of my daughters will start college in the fall. God used ACROSS to help me and my family.

I went from having everything we needed to living in someone’s living room. I was in a toxic relationship and it wasn’t safe any longer for me and my young daughter. I didn’t have enough money to get on my feet and my car wasn’t running as well. I felt like a failure!

Honestly, I don’t know where I would be mentally and physically, with out ACROSS. ACROSS provided a safe place for me and my daughter! I was able to save money to get my car fixed and plan for the future. I was even able to get my small business kick started. With my goals in order and finances in line, I now have a bright future for my family. I feel so happy and blessed!

ACROSS is truly a hand up and not a hand out. There are hardworking families that get down on their luck and ACROSS is that stepping stone!
